The series Coastal Devon & Cornwall with Michael Portillo is back on our televisions. First shown in late 2021, the series is now on Channel 5 at 7pm on Fridays. This week (Friday 9th February), Michael walks the last part of the South Cornish coast, passing through a coastline of hidden coves, a sub-tropical garden, smuggler's creeks and pirate's hideouts, immortalised by Daphne du Maurier in her novel Frenchman's Creek.
This is a charming series in which Michael meets many challenges along an unpredictable coastline while offering up a lot of interesting facts along the way. If you did not see this the first time around, and even if you did, it is well worth watching, especially for those with an interest in Daphne du Maurier.
